The Writings
For those interested further in Hope of Glory Ministries I've added these photos that have been sent to me from Pastor Babu in India.  I want you to look at the "buildings", which serve as church/school/orphanage, the dress of the people and their homes.   These young Christians, at the very least, need our prayers.

UPDATE:  Although I have not received confirmation other than Pastor Babu and most of the congregation survived the tsunamis of 12-26-04, I am almost certain that most of the buildings seen below, at least those in the lower, coastal areas, no longer exist.  They had next to nothing.  No even that has been taken away.

This is their church. Notice the truck in foreground.

Their Church Building

You can see from this picture that the Hope of Glory Ministries church is a work in progress, and that it is a very poor church building by American standards.  Yet they thank God for this building and in it they pray for Christians around the world, even those in the United States.

Pastor Babu and the congregation

This is one of two pictures of Pastor Babu ministering to the people, I presume his congregation, at the ministry's headquarters.  Notice their dress, their poverty...and their smiles.

The Congregation

This is another picture of the congregation taken that same day.  The people seem to crowd Pastor Babu, much the same way they must have crowded Jesus when He preached in Galilee.

Main Street?

This is a picture of the people in the village.  No split levels, not Cape Cods, certainly nothing approaching mansion status, these homes are little more than a feeble attempt to protect them from the weather.  This, I believe, is the center of the village.  It just gets worse the farther out you go.

This is Home

This is actually a home to some family in India.  Most of us wouldn't consider this for a "Florida Room" for our own homes.  If you look closely you can see another structure in the distance, only it has no walls or roof.  I can only guess at its purpose.  It may be a storage place or an alternate home to flee to if their home is destroy.  All they'd have to do is throw dry grass up on top to make a roof and find some sort of barrier to make sides.  Would you be willing to tell this man and his family that Jesus loves him?  Would you be willing to share a meal with him?  Would you feel guilty about the place you live in now?  I don't show this to you to make you feel guilty, but to show you the exteme differences in cultures.  Even the poorest among Americans are better off than this, yes even the street people.  At least they can find a place to sleep, food to eat and clothes to wear.  These essentials are valued highly in these remote parts of India presicely because of the lack of these commodities.
